When God Writes Your Life Story

When a soul sets out to find God it does not know whither it will come and by what path it will be led; but those who catch the vision are ready to follow the Lamb wherever He goes, and it is as they follow, obedient to what they have seen, in this spirit of joyful adventure, that their path becomes clear before them, and they are given the power to fulfill their high calling.  They are those who have the courage to break through conventionalities, who care not at all what the world thinks of them, because they are entirely taken up with the tremendous realities of the soul and of God.  -- Bishop Bardsley

be brave

"Jesus promised his disciples three things - that they would be completely fearless, absurdly happy and in constant trouble."

New Surrender

"We will all come to the point in our life where we have to admit that we feel defeated, that something has conquered us. We must change, not because we want to, but because we desperately have to. We can not take life in its current suffocating state, even to admit such desperation shows that we are feeling deserted, wandering the barren desert, a shell of our former selves. It is only up from here, it is impossible to sink any lower into ourselves or our circumstances. But we can be salvaged, a deliverance. No vice can stand, no fix can take. The thorn in the side can be removed, but you have to be willing to admit and surrender. Surrender your habits, your lifestyle, your past, your present, and your future. This is your new surrender. The new surrender."

Fellowship of the Unashamed

I am a part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit Power, The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I am a disciple of His. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or back away.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense. My future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight-walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals. I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotion, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His Presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer and labor by power

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is Heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, by companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear.

I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, preached up, for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus!

I must go 'til He comes, give 'til I drop, preach 'til all know, and work 'til He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me; my banner will be clear.

Kept

I have come realize a few things in my life, one is that Jesus loves me more than I could ever imagine.  Another is that I desperately want to please Jesus, the one made me and this world around me, the one who left His place in Heaven to die for me and then three days later rise again and defeat death for me.  To ransom me.  To rescue me.  To bring me into a deep love affair with Him.
Many of the people who read this have heard this all before, they know the story.  But I'm not writing this to show anyone anything new.  No, instead I'm just reminding my fellow lovers of Christ of what the paragraph I just wrote means to us every single day of our lives.  John 6:35 tells us that, "Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.'"  The overwhelmingly huge implications of this should drive us to our knees daily.  Jesus told us that He is everything we need, and He also told us that when we come to Him we will be completely satisfied in Him, and that He will keep us.  I know not many people believe in absolute truth, but friends this promise came from the mouth of Jesus Christ, who spoke the universe into existence.  It is truth.  We are kept in the loving arms of Jesus.  Every time we rise in the morning we should give praise to God for keeping us through the night.  And every time we eat bread or drink water we should think about the Bread of Life and the Living Water.  Let us not be deceived by people who want only what Christ can give them.  Let us go after Him, be enthralled by Him, motivated by Him who "created the heavens and the earth" because He, and He alone, is worthy of it.

So this is the first of my letters, hope whoever reads it will ponder it for a while.

In Christ and In Love,

paul
